Pay to Pee Challenge

WhatsApp Image 2020-11-09 at 12.02.52 PM.jpeg

Let's "flush" this problem for good!

It’s easy to take for granted some of the most basic human rights we have: flushing toilets, locked bathroom stalls and running water.

Across the globe, 2.5 billion people still do not have basic sanitation facilities such as toilets or latrines. Women and girls are affected the most, and are forced to spend hours searching for a place to go.

On November 19th, we will be celebrating World Toilet Day. Join us for the Pay to Pee challenge and contribute a toonie every time you use the throne to do your business.

In a community of 100 people it only costs $5 a person to have a working toilet forever!

COVID-19 may have paused our project, but it has not paused our mission.

Since we are in unprecedented times, we made the hard decision to put a pause on our current project in Jumla, Nepal back when COVID-19 hit in March.

The funds raised from Pay to Pee will go directly to our immediate COVID-19 relief efforts, helping to distribute essential materials such as soap and menstrual pads to people still being affected.

Virtual Strength and Conditioning with Square 1 YYC

Join us on Menstrual Hygiene Day, Thursday, May 28th at 6 pm MST 8 pm EST a Strength and Condition class with Square 1 Fitness YYC.

$10 to join and all proceeds will go towards Manavta's COVID-19 relief efforts. As always, thank you for #GivingAShit

Periods don’t stop for pandemics and neither do we. It’s #TimeForAction to end period stigma now and after #COVID19.

Each day, approximately 300 million women and girls menstruate. Globally, almost one-third of them lack basic needs such as hygiene and clean toilets. Enter Manavta. Working with local communities and schools, we educate kids on the importance of hygiene, build sustainable sanitation solutions and empower both men and woman to eliminate menstruation stigmas through community engagement.

Though COVID-19 has paused our current project, it has not stopped our mission. Manavta means humanity and we are determined to continue to help the people we serve. As part of our COVID-19 emergency response, we are raising funds to purchase hygeine kits (includes soap, menstrual pads and water iodine tablets for $10 CAD), contribute to a local food bank, and continue to stand prepared to respond as the situation in Nepal continues to rapidly change.

Manavta's COVID-19 Emergency Response

Manavta Yoga Event-FB Event.jpg

MANAVTA’S COVID-19 EMERGENCY RESPONSE

In Western Nepal, the lack of income for daily wage earners, market lockdowns and shut borders are causing serious food shortages. In addition, good hygiene is of utmost importance, given the nature of this virus.

Manavta means humanity and although our projects are on hold, our mission is not. We will be working alongside our local project partners, Karnali Sports Club and Namuna School to contribute as much as we collectively can to help with the emergency response in Western Nepal. A donation today will go towards emergency support for Namuna School students and their families.

We will be distributing hygiene kits ($10 CAD includes soap, menstrual pads and water iodine tablets), as well as contribute to a local food bank, and continue to stand prepared to respond as the situation in Nepal continues to rapidly change.

To register head to Manavta's COVID-19 Emergency Response and learn more. Thank you for always giving a shit!
